happy belated valentine’s day! but actually I totally forgot what it was here, even though I did walk through the Japanese mega-choco sale at department stores a few days ago.
in japan (as you know) women give chocolates to men. some people say it’s too good to be true for men, but no.men need to give back some gift (should be 3 times the price of the chocolate he received) a month later. if you choose cheap gift you will be talked amongst the ladies behind your back… and the toughest part for most boys on 2/14 is that you might not receive any, except some giri (obligation) choco from colleagues etc. so I am glad to be a woman in japan on valentine’s day!
